No More Bottles ='s No More Babies??

Well the twins are turning 1 in 24 days... {yes} I am counting down... I want to make my life that much more crazy by ticking off the days until my "babies" are ONE! So the past few days my husband and I have been in a debate focusing on this:

NO MORE BOTTLES MEANS NO MORE BABIES...

I have been giving the girls sippy cups since around 6 months and they have been doing great with them. Over the past months I have been slowing phasing out their bottles and recently they have just been having one in the morning and one in the evening. Most of the time I will give them the sippy cup first and if they would fuss I would offer the bottle. Almost always they were fine with the sippy cup. So the last month they have only been having one bottle in the morning when they wake up between 4am and 6am!! I mostly gave it to them so the would go back to sleep and I could get a few more hours!! With their Birthday nearing {and my severe "over it" attitude to washing bottles... Dr. Brown bottles at that} I thought I would try to go with out giving them the "bottle" in the morning and replace with the sippy cup ~ so mama could still get those extra hour(s) of sleep! The first day they didn't even wake up until 8!!!! WOO HOOO!!! so that night I reminded everyone in my family this very important thing....

"The babies haven't had bottles in 36 hours DO NOT give them one"

This statement was directed mostly towards my husband who feels "If my babies don't get bottles then they aren't babies any more" Sniff Sniff... Ok so I really am sad that they don't have bottles any more (we are going on day 4 of no bottle).. because I do know that it means so many more milestones are right around the corner. But is he right? Am I taking away their last month or so of being babies? Am I forcing them to become "toddlers" too soon? I am sure there are a lot of different thoughts regarding this topic and I a sure all of them are right. But for me- they are going to grow, and they are going to turn ONE {Against my wishes}, and then TWO and so on... so I am ok {as ok as I can be} with them not using the bottle. Maybe its because I don't have to wash 49 bottle parts 20 times a day any longer or maybe its just me learning to accept that my babies are soon to be toddlers.

So good-bye bottles AND Formula (YAY For that one!!) Hello sippy cups and my big girls I can't wait to see what toddler-dome brings!

Oh and 23 more days until the BIG ONE!

It can't be.. but it really is...11 Months

I haven't decided which is harder, the babies turning one (of course they aren't yet... but its just the thought) or the fact that they are 11 Months and I have to live the entire next 31 days knowing they will be ONE!!!

Its been a great month filled with lots of changes for the babies and yes some sickness!

Olivia ~
This girl she is an absolute joy her smile and crinkle of her nose can brighten any ones day. Her wild hair is growing so much and getting longer we even got a little pony in her hair! She absolutely loves to stand and is walking so well with her walking toy ~ but always looks back with a big smile on her face to make sure someone is watching her, she's even taken a few little tiny steps on her own!!! She has become quite the talker always babbling on about something especially when she wakes up in the morning. I love to hear her and Charlotte talk to each other in the mornings over the monitor. Her favorite words are Dada, yayayaya, baba, and Mama (but only when she is crying!) She has become a big eater over the last few weeks sometimes I wonder if I am feeding her enough!! She loves to watch her sister get into things... take part in what Charlotte is doing... then act as if she didn't do anything wrong when we catch them! She is still the observer most of the time but I have realized she very much like her daddy and big sister Madison in so many ways her little personality is full of spunk and excitement but she is such the cuddled when she is wanting some love.
This little spirit is nothing short of amazing I am so excited to see what the next month brings for this little one. We love you Olivia!

Charlotte~
A month of more sickness with this girl (here) - I feel so bad for her she has been sick almost every week of the last 6 weeks. She still has no teeth but I am seeing the light or the little teeth... but I am pretty sure I said that at 10 months!! Either way she has all of the symptoms of teething so fingers crossed for this little one! Charlotte has a new love for "babies" and "stuffies" she immediately hugs and kisses on them and it is one of the most adorable things I have ever seen. We are seeing some of the cutest little curls starting to form in her hair and I just love it; how can you not love little baby curls! Charlotte also loves to talk and make all kinds of noises her favorite is to scream when she wants something so we are working on some sign langue which she things is really funny!! This girl is quite the character always trying something new, climbing the stairs, throwing things, banging on things, and just being an over all comedian. She is also walking really well with her walking toy and taking small steps. We have taught her to raise her arms in the air when we say "GOAL" and she holds her hands out when we say "I don't know"! Always making us laugh this one! She too is a great little cuddler and everyone wants to be the one to hold her when she's sleepy and cuddly.
This girl is always filling our hearts with joy and a faces with smiles. We love you Charlotte!

The bond these girls share is so amazing to watch~ Charlotte likes to crawl behind Olivia while she crawls even faster giggling to get away from her.  Its amazing how they learn things from each other ~ Olivia first started walking with the walking toy and Charlotte watched her for days and finally she stood up and started taking steps... how the heck did she know to do that! I am just blown away watching them play with and talk to each other. Today they were eating in their high chairs and both started coughing at the same time they looked at each other and made one more cough together! I love having twins and I absolutely love having two older sisters that love spending time with them. I am one blessed mama!

So here is to the next 31ish days of Charlotte and Olivia as my "babies".......
