Thanksgiving with Friends

Well I am a little late on this post but better late than never!

We started our Thanksgiving off the way I always did as a kid- watching the Thanksgiving Day Parade. There was no dinner prep happening in the Kitchen this year as dinner was at a friends house. The kids sat with me watching the parade and while the "parade" seems some what different than it did when I was 10 the tradition still feels amazing and I hope that we can continue it for many years to come!

We had a great Thanksgiving with our friends and we of course made a fun supper club out of it as well. One of the things I love about our group of friends is that we all bring our own unique touches to every thing we do. This Thanksgiving we feasted on traditional food from Puerto Rico and it was A.M.A.Z.I.N.G. Its always fun to try new food and new things and our hosts did not disappoint.

Aside from the food being awesome the kids had a great time as usual... unfortunately, my family was pretty sick so it was a short eat and run type of situation for us so that we could come home and rest. Not our most energetic Thanksgiving but we made it through!

Even though the day felt short it is always a blessing to be able to spend the Holidays with Friends and the family we have here in Florida. Out of our group the "family" we have close to us is minimal if any at all. I know I have said this before but it is so important to all of us to have this group of friends because we do truly feel like one big family when we are together and that makes everything feel just a bit more special.

Enter if you dare... Supper club is were its at

It's baaaaack... that's right Supper Club has made a reappearance! We took a few months off, scheduling 4 families and 12 kids is not easy yo! But, we got it done this past weekend and it was super spooky!! Our host and hostess put on a great feast and invited us all to wear our Halloween costumes (our hostess loves Halloween) so this supper was right up her ally.

One of the things I love about our group is that none of us are afraid to be who we are...even if that means we wear our little black dress and it was made for our wife! Or we aren't afraid to really get into character (that would be my husband... you'll get it when you see the photos). I also love how amazing our children get along with each other. They are like 12 little best friends and I know they will always have each others backs.

Spending time with this group of people is a reminder that even though we may label someone as our "friend" we know they are much more... they are family and nothing feels more right than when we are all together.

Supper Club... you in??

What's a better way to spend time with friends and few (12) kids on a Saturday evening? Eating dinner on the patio, drinking yummy drinks, watching the few (12) kids play and run and scream... sounds like a memory maker to me! So we did just that! On the first Saturday in June four families aka friends got together for our first ever supper club! We all know each other mostly through our husbands that work together and the wives are of course friends... and a brother and sister thrown into the mix. What matters is not how we came together or how we became friends its how we enjoy those friendships.

Our first event was a great "kick off to summer" with a few (12) kids and some (8) Adults we ate homemade pizza and burgers. The kids played in the yard while the dads chased them and well were dads running after kids. The littlest "kids" the twins climbed on every adult that would stay seated and laughed and giggled for attention (which there was no shortage of). We finished our feast off with an amazing sundae bar and ummm hello waffle cone bowls... where have you been all my life!!

About the kids... the life of the party. As I mentioned there were a few (12) :) Ages ranging from 9 months to 10 years with the twins being the youngest all the other kids are very close in age some with only weeks separating their births... 6 boys and 6 girls even- The families consisted of 4 girls, 3 boys, 2 boys, and 2 girls/1 boy respectively.  They all get a long so well and these friendships are sure to last a life time.

So here's to many more supper clubs, kids running in the yard, and let's be real waffle cone bowls... and most importantly the memories and laughs we will share.
